Gender inequality remains one of the most critical issues facing humanity today. It is impossible to accept a world where girls are forced out of education for early marriage, where women face restricted career opportunities, and where violence against women persists as a daily reality. The gravity of this situation is often highlighted in UN meetings and on International Women’s Day with the slogan: “Ensuring the safety and rights of women and girls is the most fundamental human right.” Tragically, the need to keep declaring this right only underscores how far we are from achieving it.
